Tournament Play

The 12th annual CRFC National Championship Tournament capped off the 2024-2025 season at Saint Mary's Angela Athletic Center. This Tournament was the culmination of an entire year's work by each team of students and the ultimate opportunity to battle it out on the robotic gridiron!

This season, Ohio Northern snuck a one score victory over Calvin to win the 2025 Robotic Football National Championship! This marks the second set of Back-to-Back Championships in ONU history and ties them with both Notre Dame and Valparaiso with a tie at 4 National Championships apiece!

The Naval Academy came out strong in the play-in game completing their first long pass, but Notre Dame's depth on the bench wore the Midshipmen down over the course of the game. Calvin got off to an early lead over Valparaiso, before Valpo put together a storming comeback, only to fall one score short sending Calvin to their first ever National Championship game! Notre Dame played a tight back and forth game with ONU coming up just short on their onside kick attempt at the end of the game sending ONU to back to back Championship Game appearances and ending Notre Dame's streak of never missing a Championship game in the history of the sport at 12! Calvin played ONU close the entirety of the Championship game coming up just 6 points short and sending ONU to back-to-back Championships!

 

This year's Championship event was hosted by the University of Notre Dame. We share a huge thank you to them and their team for putting together this event!
