Tournament Play

Following the Fall Combine in November of 2023 at the University of Notre Dame, Valparaiso hosted the 11th annual CRFC National Championship Tournament to cap off the 2023-2024 season. This Tournament was the culmination of the year's work by each team of students and the ultimate opportunity to battle it out on the robotic gridiron!

Valparaiso University won back-to-back championships for the first time in school history the season before but Ohio Northern came in with a major upset bid to knock them out in the first round. Calvin University took care of business in their first ever competition with a solid win over Navy in the play-in game. Notre Dame's defense came up strong holding Calvin to only 4 points in order to keep their streak of never missing a Championship game in the history of the sport alive! Ohio Northern; however, hadn't been to a Championship game since 2015 and hadn't won the trophy in over 10 years. Their streak would come to an end as they would victoriously dominate Notre Dame to win the 2024 Robotic Football National Championship!

The 11th annual National Championship was hosted by Valparaiso University. We share a huge thank you to them and their team for putting together this event!
